The City’s History Museum is opening its doors to you free of charge before its winter closure. The temporary exhibition hosted for the summer will be on view for the last time before returning to Mulhouse at the Nef des Sciences. “The Perfect Body? The Human Body: Repaired, Remodeled, Enhanced” presents—in an original way and from “every angle”—human interventions on the body for the purposes of repair or enhancement. From the ancient Neolithic era to the present day, humans have always sought to improve their health, well-being, and quality of life. The exhibition reveals, in a playful, historical, and scientific way, what medicine and medical research have made possible, are making possible, and promise to achieve in repairing the body. You can also (re)discover the collection of bladed weapons and firearms, including the famous Chassepot rifle, as well as numerous artifacts from antiquity through the Middle Ages, such as a skeleton from the Merovingian period and a magnificent sarcophagus lid.
